Check engine light diagnosis in Hot Springs
A check engine light can mean a loose gas cap or a failing sensor, and guessing between the two is expensive. Our ASE-certified technicians use current diagnostic tools to read the codes and then test the parts behind them.
When we know the cause, we tell you exactly what it costs to fix, and most estimates come back the same day you drop the car off.
Engine, electrical, and drivability problems
Rough idle, stalling, hard starts, or a car that just does not feel right are what mechanics call drivability problems, and they are often electrical. We trace them to the source instead of swapping parts until something works.
One customer came in certain he needed a fuel pump, and it turned out to be nothing more than the battery. That is why we diagnose before we repair.
What a diagnostic visit looks like
Call the shop with your VIN and a short description of the problem, and we will book the car in. We run the tests, then call or text you with what we found and what the repair will cost, and nothing is repaired until you say yes.

Can I drive with the check engine light on?
If the light is steady, get it checked soon. If it is flashing, stop driving and call us, because a flashing light usually means a misfire that can damage the engine.
What do I need for a diagnostic appointment?
Your VIN, the year, make, and model, and a short description of what the car is doing. The VIN is printed on the dash near the windshield and on the sticker inside the driver's door.
How fast will I get an estimate?
Usually the same day. We return calls within the hour during business hours, which are Monday through Friday from 8 am to 5 pm.
Do you diagnose cars still under dealer warranty?
Yes. If the repair should be covered by the dealer's warranty, we will tell you so you do not pay for it twice.
From customers
Honest and has fair prices.
Took my car in thinking it had a fuel pump issue. To both our surprise it was only a battery issue. Some shops would lie at this point and over charge you for things that didn't need to be fixed. They even fixed something on my clutch for free.
Jesse was great! He is honest and trustworthy and gave my car a diagnostic on the morning of NYE. No charge! He ended up advising us to go to the dealer since our car was still under warranty and even gave us a name of the mechanic at the dealer to talk to.
1-year nationwide warranty
On parts and labor, on every repair we do. If something we fixed fails, we make it right.
